I just got done reading the book “The Fix Your Credit Workbook” and recommend it for anyone looking to improve their credit. Bierman and Masten have alot of great ideas and give consumers quite a few tools to use to improve their credit.

One of the chapters talked about making a priority list of your credit obligations and paying those accounts in order of importance. According to Bierman and Masten, here is the top 5 that should be on a list.

Mortgages – Payment Priority #1

The IRS – Payment Priority #2

Auto Loans – Payment Priority #3

Credit Cards – Payment Priority #4

Department Store Cards – Payment Priority #5

If you have any questions on why they chose this order please feel free to email me or post a comment and I will be happy to help you better understand the order.

These are the suggestions from Bierman and Masten on the most important accounts in their opinion. Everyone’s priorties will be different.
